Bitcoin Core Developer Gloria Zhao Resigns

Bitcoin Core developer Gloria Zhao has resigned from her role as a maintainer and revoked her cryptographic signing key. Zhao, who has been involved in Bitcoin Core development for over six years, focused on mempool verification, transaction forwarding, and fee estimation. Her departure will not impact Bitcoin’s consensus rules or network security.

The resignation is part of a common practice in open-source projects where maintainers step down and revoke their keys. Bitcoin Core maintainers are a select group responsible for code review and update approvals. Zhao did not disclose the reasons for her resignation.
