Base Restores Network Stability After Outage
Base has issued a post-mortem report on the January 31 network outage, attributing the disruption to a change in transaction propagation configuration. This led to lost transactions and delays as block builders repeatedly retrieved unexecutable transactions due to a spike in base fees. The issue has been resolved through rollback changes, restoring network stability.
To prevent future occurrences, Base is optimizing its transaction pipeline, removing unnecessary P2P overhead, and adjusting the memory pool queue, with completion expected in about a month. Additionally, improvements are being made to the early warning system and change monitoring mechanisms.
