Taiko’s ‘Shasta’ Upgrade to Cut Rollup Costs by 22x

Taiko is set to launch its ‘Shasta’ upgrade, which promises to significantly reduce rollup costs. The upgrade will decrease the cost of block proposing from a maximum of 1,000,000 gas to approximately 45,000 gas, marking a reduction of about 22 times. Additionally, the cost of proving will be lowered from 500,000 gas to around 280,000 gas, an improvement of approximately 8 times. This development is expected to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of Taiko’s blockchain operations.
