Israeli Reservist Charged for Betting on Military Actions

An Israeli Defense Forces reservist and a civilian have been charged with using confidential information to place bets on military actions via the Polymarket platform. The charges, which include serious security offenses, bribery, and obstruction of justice, follow a joint investigation by the Ministry of Defense, Shin Bet, and Israeli police. The case involves a user known as “ricosuave666,” who reportedly earned approximately $150,000 in June 2025 by accurately betting on Israeli military operations in Iran. Authorities have highlighted the severe national security risks posed by such misuse of confidential information.
