DFINITY Updates Internet Computer Economic Model
The DFINITY Foundation has announced a significant update to the economic model of its Internet Computer (ICP) platform. Under the new structure, 80% of the revenue from the cloud engine will be allocated to nodes that provide computing power, replacing the previous model where nodes received fixed rewards. The remaining 20% of the revenue will be used to burn ICP tokens, enhancing the token’s value capture capability.
This adjustment aims to better align node revenue with actual business income and is part of a broader strategy to promote the Internet Computer-based cloud engine service to enterprises, particularly in the European market. The move is expected to expand enterprise-level application scenarios and strengthen the platform’s economic model.
