Vitalik Buterin Supports Zcash’s Crosslink with Donation

Vitalik Buterin has donated to Shielded Labs, the core development team led by Zcash founder Zooko, to support the development of Crosslink. Crosslink aims to enhance Zcash’s proof-of-work consensus by adding a parallel finality layer, which prevents chain reorganization and rollback attacks. This mechanism ensures that confirmed transactions are irrevocable, reducing double-spending risks and improving transaction settlement reliability.

Buterin praised Zcash as a trustworthy project committed to privacy, stating that the Crosslink project will enhance Zcash’s security and reduce its security budget, supporting its long-term sustainability.
